What's your favourite scary movie?

I love Halloween. Its my favourite holiday. It always has been, Pumpkins, Scary Movies, Sweets! and when I was little I always dressed up.

Most little girls wanted to be a princess. I wanted to be Wednesday Addams.

My favourite scary movie(s) are Scream. I think its the best Teen Slasher movie franchise.  I can't pick which one, I suppose I should say the first one. But, I love one of the lines Sidney says in the 4th (I will not say the line in case I spoil it for someone).
So this Halloween I'm going to be watching Scream 4 and Halloween II. I suppose you kind of have to watch a Halloween on Halloween ;)

The Autumn Tag

What's your favourite seasonal drink from Starbucks/Costa/Cafe Nero etc?

None, I never go to these places. I only drink decaf tea and Green tea, Now its getting colder I'm on the look out for a vegan hot chocolate :)

What accessories do you opt for, scarf, hat, boots, gloves?

I really feel the cold, so it depends how cold it gets, I always wear my scarf (handmade by donna) and the Wellies are definitely out now for walking the dogs.

What's your favourite music to listen to during Autumn?

I don't listen to certain music at certain times of the year, But at the moment I have Taylor Swifts song Shake it off in my head!! I love Jessie J's Bang Bang and Ed Sheeran :)

What's your favourite perfume for this time of year?

I have just switched to Calvin Klein CK in2u

What candle scents will you be burning this season?

Not really bothered with candles to be honest, I normally just pick a glade one I like. I purchased quite a few blackberry frost candles last year, so I will be burning that one.  

What do you love most about Autumn?

The colours!

Favourite make up look?

I don't wear make-up, but I always have a Nivea Lip care with me and I will be using these colours on my nails. Nails inc Warwick Avenue and Fulham Road.

What are you looking forward to most in Autumn?

Watching Nature change. The leaves changing and falling, longer evenings and conkers :). I love it when it starts to get colder, even though I really feel the cold. The hoodies are out in force and I'm a big fan of watching box sets and they always come out this time of the year. At the moment I'm watching 24 :).

Pin Cushion ~ Handmade By Donna

I've been wanting to do a Throwback Thursday on here for a while, but never decided what to post. So I decided to make my first TBT a Craft one.

This is my Pin cushion. I made this when I was at school in textiles class, (talented, wasn't I ;) lol) , I can't remember if I was 12 or 13 and I still use it today.

And what a surprise its a Dog :) (trust me, it is a dog ;) ) and the pins and needles are the whiskers

#DontPanicButton - World Mental Health Day

Some of you may be unaware that today is World Mental Health Day, and you might be thinking why is this woman wearing a red button? Well, the mental health charity 'Mind' have come up with this (I think) great campaign called 'Don't Panic Button', and they have chosen Zoella to be their Ambassador.

This campaign is to raise awareness of anxiety and panic attacks in young people. Even though it's to raise awareness in young people, I think it should be for everyone of all ages, because anxiety and panic attacks can happen to anyone and at any age.

Zoe, and the campaign are encouraging people to wear a red button to show their support.

This campaign means a lot to me. As some of you may know, I suffer with Social Anxiety , and have been suffering really badly with it the past 9 years. Those who suffer, know that sometimes it is a one big son of a bitch living with it (and that is putting it nicely!!). But, weirdly, it is nice to know we aren't alone in this.

Balance Basics - Fitness Journey

Septembers Yoga challenge was all about Balance!

Yes, Balance! We need it. Balance is your body’s physical stability. We use/need it in every physical activity we do. You always find the truth in that, the day after you do a really intense workout (mine, is when I do a Bob Harper Workout!!!) and you can feel every muscle in your core area when you move #pain!!.

Its good to keep your balance as you age, without a strong core, you’re more likely to suffer back pain, lose your balance and fall, or be more prone to injury during exercise. To keep our balance we need to build our 'core' muscles, it's the key to staying strong and upright as we age.

Also another great thing, during balance training your body has to work harder to stabilize. That means it helps you burn more calories!.

This Challenge I enjoyed a lot more than last months (see Post ) I've found out my balance is a lot better than my flexibility. (I know what I need to work on :) ) But that doesn't mean I found this challenge easier, oh no.

Here are my 'attempts' at each pose: (Please see my Instagram page to see each day and the names of each pose :) )

You may have noticed Day 11 is missing, That one is the Tripod Headstand. I didn't attempt that one. Well, actually I did try. But, my head and neck felt so uncomfortable I stopped. I felt a bit defeated, because I really want to do Headstands again, I was so good at them when I was little. After posting this on Instagram, a friend gave me some advice and said I should try/practice a Ashtanga Headstand instead.
After searching 'how tos' I found Kino MacGregors video (she is @Kinoyoga from these yoga challenges).

As you can see from the video, this Headstand involves balancing on your forearms. Following this video I should be able to Strengthen my shoulders and be able to do a headstand. Practice, Practice, Practice :).

Also, while doing this challenge, I realised how far I have come in my fitness journey. I was completely shocked that I could do (okay, more like attempt) most of these poses. Esp.  the ones where I was holding my own body weight. I remember at the beginning of my journey, I couldn't even hold a plank for 10 seconds! #GettingStronger #Shocked!!! and yes I ached a lot, which is great! No Pain, No Gain :).

Balance Training is good for any age, So start now! add a few poses into your workout routine and watch the progress. It can take practice, sometimes a lot. But remember Progress not Perfection :)

I've set myself a new fitness goal, and that is to keep working on building my strength, esp. in my arms/shoulders. So I can do a Headstand and eventually a Handstand (without using the wall). :)

I have already started this months Challenge :).

Time to work on my flexibility :)
